These images were taken on the site off the Penn Road where the Lancaster Jaguar Land Rover servicing centre now stands. At the time I took them it was derelict, but in the late 1800s there was a house called Pennhurst there and later it was the site of the Wolverhampton Die Casting factory and the Midland Counties dairy yard.
I am interested in what remains as the land use changes over time, and the memories that the land holds. These pictures represent the very early stages of a project that I intend to develop over the coming months.
The desire to create images can sometimes be hard to explain. I want to produce images that are remarkable, in the true sense of the word, but photography is also my way to connect with the world. Creating images allows me to explore, and communicate something of what I feel and see around me.
