Tim Sayer MBE, a London based, self-confessed ‘art-oholic’ and retired BBC Radio 4 newswriter has taken a tour of the NEWWAVEART.org. Tim has paired three works* from his own impressive and extensive collection with three from the NEWWAVE art exhibition.
“Storeys of Neglect” compared with Olivier de Coux AD8 2016 Corten unique (29 x 10 x 28.5cm)
“I imagine that Evans is referring to rundown social housing, Grenfell etc. He manages to give the work a great feeling of lightness and impermanence. Whereas de Coux presents us with a great block of corten (corrosion-resistance and tensile strength) which is a statement of its own weight. The sculpture isn’t moving, unlike Evans’ work, which could easily sway in the wind. Or even topple over.”

* Tim decided to do 5 comparisons rather than 3, due to the opening of a 2nd bottle of Malbec.
